OLD AND OBSOLETE

Had to take old TV to landfill.  It was an ordeal cause it was so heavy and bulky and getting it down the stairs was very scary.  Michael was a little freaked about it.  I still remember the day this TV was delivered and Michael and Elizabeth were very small - maybe 3 and 1 1/2 respectably and how great it was at the time for such a big TV screen to watch their favorite shows like rugrats and Blues Clues.  As you can see there are a bunch of other TV's some even bigger than this one and I wonder if they too were once the highlight of families bunched around that fantastic image they projected and now too big and obsolete and alone.  Will I too find myself cast out because I am obsolete and not able to fit in the future flat screened society?  I think not,  I do pride myself on trying to keep up with things and stay active and relevant.

Old dogs go to heaven

You can see the upper falls just left and above center of photo

DOG TIRED

The blue smoke was awesome with the setting sun but I could not capture it well.

This came out pretty good for a selfie.

TV and things

Just finished the second book by Gillian Flynn
It was really a bizarre one but a quick enjoyable read.  She writes
about crazy women and that seems to resonate with me with 3 of them
in our family.

This week Liz came home for spring break and it was nice to have here here especially
with Sarah recouping from wisdom teeth surgery. It has been sorta stressful dealing
with it and trying to make sure she is comfortable and she is in pain and acting out on
          it.

Photo: I know this is a long shot but I finally replaced our tv in bonus area with flatscreen and I really don't want to haul this one off. Back in 95 it was THE shit but now maybe a load of shit. Still works fine, just one heavy mother. The screen is 35" and it is 26" deep and 41 wide. Don't want to post on Craigslist. If anyone wants it come get it but bring some steroid dudes to carry it off. Will probably haul off next weekend. It is RCA brand- one of those appliances back when I worked for Duke Power and they sold them and employees got 25% off.
Replaced old TV for bonus room.   Remember the day this was delivered and Mikey was about 3 and Lizzie about 1 just before Sarah born.  It was such a great thing at the time with the large screen!  Rugrats and all the other shows we watched.
Bought 42 inch flatscreen and mounted on wall.
Also had to take out old stereo because it is not compatible with new TV!  Everything is digital now.  I want to at least figure out how to connect old speakers but now I need a new receiver.   Oh well, nothing is easy in this electronic world.

Perfectionist

I have been told I was a perfectionist and that baffled me because I am very unorganized and not a task master by any means but it was explained to me that I want things to be perfect and if they are not I choose either to give up whatever it is or choose not to acknowledge it.  Just like my kids rooms, I always wanted them picture perfect- neat and orderly and clean, however, to them they are perfect because I helped create them and they don't see the unmade beds, stuff on floor, etc.  They just see their own individual rooms.

New resolution (again)

Okay, starting a new resolution- A blog.  Hate all the time it takes to crawl through the set up, all the options, all the shit.  But, will at least try.  Thanks to my daughter Liz for helping me get started.
